At the time I was still using oil paint, so this little paint box could work for using either medium. Now I have just been using watercolor. The maximum paper or canvas size is only 8 x 6 inches, unless I want to strap a slightly bigger piece around the top side. It's a great little box for small painting and sketching. I can sit with it in on my lap or on a table. The small plastic water containers are held in place with magnets I glued on. The box has plenty of room to carry other supplies I might need as well. Maybe not as sophisticated like a store bought box, but there is a certain satisfaction in with making it myself using simple tools.

Painting of David and more
My newest painting here is based on the story of David's battle with Goliath and his victory based upon his faith. God did for him what seemed impossible for a young man of his stature, compared to Goliath's. I used the three sculptures of David that I admire the most. The sculptures I referenced are from Donatello, Michelangelo and the center figure from Bernini.

Older Sketches For "Horror"
I found some old sketches I did while in Art School in the early 2000's. I was working towards a large painting entitled, "Horror", which was based around the horrible tsunami tragedy in Sri Lanka. I copied some of the amazing drawings of Raphael, to possibly use for the final piece. I didn't end up using them, but I carried the out the effect of using other drawings collaged together. These sketches are done using pencil and watercolor on paper. I like the emotion that came about as a result.
